🇮🇳 Indian Beef Vindaloo
A fiery and flavorful Goan-inspired curry with tender beef, warm spices, and a tangy twist—perfect with fluffy rice or naan! 🍛🔥
🍽️ Ingredients:
- 500g beef, diced
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 3 tbsp malt vinegar (or white vinegar)
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chili powder (adjust for heat)
- 300ml water
- Fresh coriander (optional, for garnish)
👩🍳 Instructions:
- Sauté the Base:
Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until they begin to turn golden brown. - Add Garlic & Ginger:
Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant. - Brown the Beef:
Add the diced beef and sear on all sides until lightly browned. - Spice it Up:
Mix in the vinegar, tomato puree, cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Stir and cook for 2 more minutes to let the spices bloom. - Simmer to Perfection:
Pour in the water and bring everything to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and simmer for 1 hour—until the beef is tender and the sauce is rich and thick. - Final Touch:
Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with fresh coriander if you like.
🍴 Serving Suggestion:
Serve hot with steamed basmati rice or buttery naan bread to soak up every bit of that delicious sauce. Add a spoonful of yogurt or raita on the side to cool the heat if desired!
