A quick and flavorful stir-fry dish made with tender beef slices, colorful bell peppers, and a savory garlic soy sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner!


📋 Ingredients:

  • 500g (1 lb) beef steak (e.g. sirloin, flank, or ribeye), thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon sesame oil, sliced green onions for garnish

👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Beef:
    • In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat evenly.
    • Let it marinate for at least 15–20 minutes (up to 1 hour in the fridge for deeper flavor).
  2. Sear the Beef:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
    • Add the beef (in batches if needed) and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned but not fully cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Veggies:
    • In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil.
    • Sauté the garlic for 30 seconds, then add sliced onions and bell peppers.
    • Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.
  4. Combine & Finish:
    • Return the beef to the skillet.
    • Stir everything together and cook for 2 more minutes, until the beef is fully cooked and coated in the sauce.
    • Optional: Drizzle with a bit of sesame oil for extra flavor.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve hot over steamed white rice, noodles, or in lettuce wraps.
    • Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
