Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

1. Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until evenly combined.

2. Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and melted butter. Whisk until smooth.

3. Combine and Let Batter Rest

Gently pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir just until combined—don’t worry if there are a few lumps!
