🥩 Succulent Steak in Rich Caramelized Onion Gravy
Tender, juicy steak smothered in a silky, savory onion gravy – this dish is pure comfort in every bite. Perfect for cozy dinners, special occasions, or whenever you’re craving something deeply flavorful and satisfying.
🛒 Ingredients:
- 4 beef steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
👨🍳 Directions:
- Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Sear the steaks for about 4–5 minutes per side or until cooked to your preferred doneness. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter. Toss in the sliced onions and garlic. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until onions become golden and deeply caramelized — about 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions, stir to coat, and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Slowly pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens, around 5 minutes.
- Return the steaks to the skillet, spoon the rich gravy over them, and let them simmer together for 3–4 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, serve hot, and enjoy with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread!
