📋 Ingredients

Mashed Potato Dough:

  • 2 cups cold mashed potatoes
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Savory Meat Filling:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 lb ground beef (or chicken/turkey)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley, chopped

For Cooking:

  • Vegetable oil for pan-frying

1️⃣ Prepare the Meat Filling

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Sauté onion until soft (3 minutes), then add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Add ground meat and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart.
  • Season with paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir in parsley if using.
  • Let it cool slightly before filling.

2️⃣ Make the Potato Dough

  • In a large bowl, mix mashed potatoes with egg, flour, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir until a soft, workable dough forms. Add extra flour if too sticky.

3️⃣ Shape the Pancakes

  • Dust hands and surface with flour.
  • Scoop ~2 tbsp of dough, flatten into a disc.
  • Add 1 spoonful of meat filling in the center.
  • Fold edges over, pinch to seal, then gently flatten into a patty.

4️⃣ Pan-Fry to Perfection

  • Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry pancakes in batches for 3–4 minutes per side until crispy and golden.
  • Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
