📋 Ingredients
- 1 lb linguine pasta
- 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- Fresh chopped green onions, for garnish
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguine until al dente, then drain—reserving 1 cup of the starchy pasta water. Set aside.
2️⃣ Season & Sear the Steak:
Toss steak cubes with Cajun seasoning, paprika, and pepper.
Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the steak pieces in batches for 3–4 minutes, until browned on all sides. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
3️⃣ Sauté the Aromatics:
In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and the diced onion. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
4️⃣ Build the Creamy Sauce:
Pour in chicken broth, scraping up the flavorful browned bits.
Bring to a simmer, then add heavy cream and cream cheese.
Whisk continuously until the mixture is smooth and starts to thicken slightly.
5️⃣ Combine & Melt:
Add the cooked linguine and seared steak back to the skillet. Toss everything gently to coat.
Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone over the top. Add butter.
Cover and let the dish sit over low heat for 3–5 minutes until the cheese is melted and gooey.
6️⃣ Serve & Garnish:
Top with freshly chopped green onions. Serve hot and dig into that creamy, cheesy, spicy goodness!
